About

When he isn't developing immersive art experiences for brands like Adidas or creating graphic visuals for notable artists. Sean "Belchez" Cort is putting his time and effort into the Belchez NYC in order to have a long-term influence in his community. The Harlem-born father community leader, graphic artist, garment designer, creative director, and youth educator approaches each creative project with the goal of inspiring others. To create a message to the community that promote values of strength, integrity and creativity.

Sean established Belchez NYC in 2008, where it was quickly recognized that drew in commissions by leading activewear brands, Nike, Puma, Adidas and Avirex, along with streetwear brands, Lemar & Dauley and Phenomenon. As Belchez continued to grow, the brand would work with on some of today’s most noteworthy entertainers including Nas, Lauryn Hill, Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown, A$AP Ferg, and Dave East.

Belchez NYC expanded its creativity into various art forms by experimenting with mediums such as canvas, screen printing, stenciling, spray paint, markers, and leather appliqué cutouts, which led to the creation of modern art works and, later, custom furniture.

Belchez uses his art to give back to his community. As an educator for over 15 years in the New York City school DOE system, he works with elementary school students to develop their artist creativity, while promoting the importance of personality responsibility to ones community.

“The first half of my life was absorption and the second half, and what I’m currently living, is the release.”

He is filled with visual impressions of all he has seen and experienced in his life, the lessons he has learned, the hardship and brutality he has witnessed, and the beauty. He has been releasing these images and channeling them into works of art.
